5. In this poem the speaker is the granddaughter. Her grandfather's death has brought back memories of the advice he gave her, in his den, years before.
6. c. The poem is written in iambic pentameter (though the majority of lines have an extra unaccented syllable at the end). The triplets rhyme aba, and the quatrain rhymes abaa (though the first a is a near rhyme).
